It has recently been announced, in several local newspapers, that the ‘Catastrazo’ – which increased the Council Tax to be paid by owners of property in Javea in 2005 has been declared null and void by the Spanish Supreme Court!

For this reason, the Town Hall in Jávea has decided not to send out Council Tax demands for 2012.  The Major of the Town Hall in Jávea is waiting for the Cadastral Office to send the new valuations, which will have to be applied in order to calculate the new Council Tax in Javea. These new values will reduce the amount to be paid as Council Tax.

This information is important as your Council Tax will be reduced but also you will be able to ask for a refund between the difference between the amount paid now and the amount paid over the last four years.
