Plot surveys in Spain are always extremely important if you are thinking of buying a property in rustic land.
To state the obvious, if you are buying Spanish property it is essential that you know exactly what you are buying and precisely where the boundaries of your land lie. If this is not the case, then you may find that your plot (particularly if there is a dispute) bears no relationship to what you thought. This can be very bad news..
Generally speaking, plots within urbano areas are clearly delineated. However, this is frequently not the case in rural land and often what appear to be boundaries are not – or are unreliable indicators of a given plot.
Needless to say, there are topographers who can undertake plot surveys in Spain and who can provide you with exact details of your plot size and the boundaries of your land. This is not an unduly expensive process – and the cost is minimal given the stakes involved in buying propery (and particularly buying the ‘wrong’ property!).
